One of my favorite things when it comes to advertising is when brands create a story around the products that they are selling. I love when my attention is captured and I am drawn into a narrative that I feel connected to/an investment in. I think a company has done a successful job with their advertisements when a consumer is actually looking forward to seeing the next installment in the campaign. A brand that I think does this expertly is Kate Spade, with their #MissAdventure campaign.
#MissAdventure follows around certain celebrities as they deal with their quirky, unpredictable social lives, all decked-out in Kate Spade of course. One of the first advertisements in the series features Anna Kendrick, who has a date cancel on her suddenly. On top of that, her favorite table at her favorite restaurant is taken by another patron.
In this commercial, Anna Kendrick is mistaken for a meditation specialist, and she must fake her way through a session with a famous actress:
The brand even uses popular Muppet Miss Piggy with Zosia Mamet in one of the advertisements. In this commercial, the girls must figure out what to do when they show up wearing the exact same outfit for a party.
The best part about the #MissAdventure campaign is that it remains true to the Kate Spade brand - quirky, feminine, fun, unpredictable - while still drawing consumers into a story about the lives of those living the Kate Spade way.
