The Girl in This Photo Has NOT Been Retouched -- Neither Has the Boy !

Aerie, an underwear and lingerie store by American Eagle, has been quite successful as sales have grown by 9% after launching their #AerieReal campaign. The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness to body positivity as many young ladies today struggle with their bodies. Aerie has made a promise to not photoshop its advertisement pictures any longer and showcase real women, no models.

The news however is that, what many thought was an April Fool's joke, is actually Aerie's new campaign which promises to – just as it does with the ladies – showcase real men in their advertisement. Aerie noticed that men also suffer from body shaming and have the same insecurities as many women when it comes to their bodies; but yet nothing had been done about it, until Aerie's new #RealMan campaign. The campaign is as simple as it sounds; real men with many different body types, untouched, in underwear. You do not need to be David Beckham or Adriana Lima to be beautiful, you just need to be you. Good job for keeping it real, Aerie!

  1. I love this campaign and every campaign that promotes being natural and comfortable in your own skin. I like that the beginning of this ad is kind of silly and uplifting. Also fun fact, "Matt" in this commercial went to point park and is now a famous model.
