Advertising industry? Boring?

The advertising industry is facing a major image crisis that is making advertising jobs unattractive to new, young professionals. Advertisers realized they needed to completely re brand the industry in order to attract the new, fresh talent they crave. The Arnold CEO was the first to take a jab at this large feat. Through studies 4 main problems were discovered dealing with young professionals and their thoughts about the advertising industry:

 1. Agencies are fiercely competitive, backstabbing, and eat their young
 2. Agencies invest little in training and mentoring staffers
 3. General marketing agencies aren't as techie-friendly as digital shops
 4. Jobs are scarce

To acknowledge these concerns the Arnold company has created a website where young professionals can go and talk to one another about these issues and ask real people in the advertising industry the concerns they have about the field. To me this seems like a great idea, I'm graduating in May and I know the anxieties and fears that come with being a new young professional. Having a place to go and talk to others in the same position and talk to professionals about the stereotypes in my mind would definitely make the transition easier and would help me to relax and provide the best work I could. Good job Arnold!
