PETA ads

After PETAs last series of successful advertisements that featured athletes, actors, singers, and pop icons posing nude to take a stand against the use of fur, they are at it again. This time the advertisements feature pictures of animals that get used for experimentation and the slogan, "If you call it 'medical research' you can get away with murder." The message emphasizes the fact that thousands of animals are getting experimented on in excruciatingly painful ways when there are other techniques that could be used where animals would not have to suffer at all. Since there is a possibility for research to be done without testing on animals PETA sees it as murder for these innocent animals to be killed. I for one am an animal lover, and seeing these ads really makes me think about how wrong it is to test on animals for human benefits. I think the ads are very powerful, being able to see the innocent animals that are being tested on definitely pulls heart strings. I think these rounds of ads will be just as successful as the last round of "ink not mink" ads...what do you guys think?

  1. I agree that these ads are powerful. Definitely aiming for the heart of the audience by getting a negative emotion towards medical researchers and positive reaction towards their message they're trying to create.
They also have the "Switch to a better way" to make the reader of the ad feel like there is something that they can do, but I think maybe they could have added a specific way that someone could help.

It definitely drives me to want to help, but I wouldn't really know how would be the most effective way of doing so...i.e their website, Facebook, twitter, etc. So I'm thinking, maybe they should highlight a little more on how to do so.
