One of the more creative ways to develop a logo or brand is to incorporate subliminal messaging. This means including a hidden visual image or message that supports the brand's identity. Below are a few examples of subliminal messaging in logos:
1. Amazon
In the Amazon logo, have you ever noticed how the arrow points from A-Z? This demonstrates that the brand has a wide variety of products. It also illustrates the brand's ability to provide customers any product they need, from A to Z.
2. Tostitos
In the Tostitos logo, if you look closely, the two "t's" are people sharing the "i," which is a table with a bowl of salsa on it. This encourages the brand's products of salsa and chips as well as the brand's theme of sharing and celebration.
3. Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium
This logo utilizes white space to create a subliminal image of a panther and a gorilla, two animals that visitors could see at the zoo. This logo displays an emphasis on the visual aspects/benefits of going to a zoo.
All of these logos create subliminal imagery in different ways. However, they are all effective in supporting each company's unique selling points and values. When creating an ad or developing a brand, trying to create subliminal messages within the ad or logo ads a certain depth to the brand in terms of its creativity and what its values are.
I love how creative these logos are. I never realized that these subliminal messages were hidden in any of these logos you posted. I personally love the Pittsburgh Zoo one with the gorilla and panther. I have seen that logo so many times and never realized those two animals were included in it. I think that really takes creativity along with strategic thinking to produce something like that since all the hidden messages relate back to the brand. One that I was able to notice was the FedEx logo with the hidden arrow between the E and X.
